PNCLL Week #5 (3/2-3/8) - Predict, Scores, Discuss

Postby Tim Whitehead on Fri Mar 04, 2005 2:45 pm

I believe that you can't be more than 3 men down. Maybe a ref could correct me on this, but I believe you need 3 players (not including goalie) on the one side of the field at all times, so on a 4th penalty, the player goes to the box, but his penalty doesn't start until one of the three previous penalties has elapsed. If you guys had to play with 2 players on the field, I do believe you got screwed.

you go 3 down then do the infamous 'stack' in the box, lining up the players with penalties and when the first is released the new penalty guy steps into the box and the line continues. You actually aren't even allowed to have more than 3 players with penalties in teh box at once. Saw it at a HS game last week.

Yeah that's what I thought happened. Once in my 4 years at SFU we managed to get 4 penalties in a span of less than a minute (including one to our goalie). I knew that you always had to have at least 3 guys on the field.

Postby Dan Wishengrad on Sat Mar 05, 2005 2:17 am

PLU at Western Washington should have ended over an hour ago. Anybody have the score and a report? Nice evening to play, very mild weather...

The PLU vs. Western game was another great one last night. PLU started down 2-0, but then controlled the first half with a 5-3 lead at the break. Western took it to the Lutes in the third quarter, and ended up with a 12-9 lead with about 7 minutes to play.

PLU went on a run, winning a few faceoffs and frantically increased the pace of the game, creating a few broken plays and scored the last 5 goals of the game to win it 14-12. The game winner was with 1:00 left in the game, and PLU added a "security" goal at the end of regulation.

Their crowd was load and raucous, and played a real role in the game. That is not a fun place to play on a Friday night.

Another classic PLU/Western game in Bellingham. . .
