Cold (in the 30's), Windy and snowing. Hard to believe it's the end of April! It was 80 on Tuesday. By the end of the game you couldn't really see the lines. When the players picked up balls on the endlines they were like snowballs. They'd have to toss them a few times to knock all the snow off. Footing was a little iffy, which kept the defenses from playing too aggresively.

There was at least an inch of snow on the ground by the end of the game.

There was more than once that a ball went down, and the players just all froze (no pun intended) and looked around on the ground trying to find it.

Also there were a few times that good checks were landed that didn't knock the ball out, but a wad of snow would get chased after.

Crayzy weather, even for Michigan at this time of year.

My neighbors were getting their pool ready earlier this week.

Hey my buddy just put his boat in the water last weekend and was going to clean it this weekend. Oh well, guess that is not going to happen. Let me say this about the game itself, playing in those conditions brought me back to my college days playing in upstate NY at Alfred University. Even though it snowed and was cold, there was just something awesome about playing in those conditions. Guys were all hyped and everyone playing had fun. Call me nuts, and grant it I am a goalie, but I love playing in cold, snowy conditions. I guess you could say it's an "Old School" way of playing.

The only downside to playing in the snow on artificial grass is that you pick up a handfull of rubber pellets along with the snow. When playing in the snow on grass all you get is snow. Last night there were clumps of snow and pellets flying around and I thought guys were dropping the ball,.

What can I say its lacrosse in Michigan, in APRIL!!!!!

Can't wait to see the pictures.

Pictures from the UofM v MSU game.

They are not in chronological order.

Should give you an idea of the conditions.

Yeah, it was pretty brutal. We're used to 70 degrees and dry every single day in Oosterbaan. More good ones on our site under the game story.
