Congrats to the Vandals on making their unprecedented trip and coming home with their first victory in the history of the program. I am certain there will be many more to come. . .

Though I had to 'dig' him a little if I could

While we're on the subject... I'm down for an "Old School" vs. "New School" game in Missoula instead of the All-Star game which never works... any takers? Any old schoolers want to run middie???

Does Levi still look at his feet when he shoots? I love that guy. . .

And if you want to go really old school, I might suit up on Julian's team. Should I wear my old bucket helmet???

I better hit the treadmill. . .

this is unofficial, but I have some guys watching the PLU-SOU game and they gave me a third quarter score of 9-2 in favor of SOU. It sounds like Tcachuck is being contained fairly well by the SOU defense.

Official:

SOU 15
PLU 3

Fun game to watch, Tkachuk literally was sealed off all game by Dan Snell. Don't know how many times he touched the ball but only had a couple shots.

Willamette 15
CofI 8

Great weather opened up for our first home win in 6 years. CofI started out up 3-0, but we battled back and went up 13-5 going into the 4th I believe. Thanks to the Yotes for coming down and battling hard.

Hats off today to Ulshafer in goal. Don't think I have seen a performance shutting down shots in quite a while. WULAX was just too much for the Yotes to overcome today as we showed up with 14 players, not our starting goalie, and one middie with broken/cracked ribs and another with potential bronchitis, leaving us with one fully healthy middie with playing experience before this year. Sure can make life difficult, here we come WOU.

WOU 28 - C of I 5. Great heart by the yotes in this competition. They didn't give up the whole game despite their 2 subs by the end of the game.

By the way, is it just me or is Willamette still in the play-off hunt??? In fact if my math is correct then the play-off picture in the PNCLL-2 is starting to become clear. It looks like L&C and C of I are now mathmetically out, and the PLU-WU game could end up determining the #6 seed depending on how the two play things out. Congrats to Will and his bearcats on a solid win this weekend, and their first win streak since I have been involved with the PNCLL. Keep the streak alive WU!

I think you forgot someone in your calculation. . .Whitman perhaps? They lost 3 one-goal games to playoff teams, but I think they are very much in the playoff picture.

Hard to imagine UPS, WWU, WOU and CWU not making it. . .which leaves Whitman, SOU, PLU and WU fighting for the last two spots. PLU lost to Whitman ans SOU. . .so they'll likely need to spoil the perfect league record of rival UPS in order to get in (assuming WOU doesn't do it first).

Here are the current standings:

University of Puget Sound 6 0
Central Washington University 5 2
Western Washington University 5 2
Western Oregon 4 1
Southern Oregon 3 2
Willamette University 2 3
Whitman College 2 3
Pacific Lutheran University 2 4
Lewis and Clark 0 5
College of Idaho 0 7

you're right Jason, it was much less of a forgetting about Whitman as it was a complete forgetting of the number of teams in our league..... my bad

Congrats to the Vandals for earning their first victory vs. a good Nevada team.
Also, congrats to Will and Willamette for their first home win in 6 years and 2 wins in a row. I hope you guys can keep it up next weekend as you help us host San Jose St. and Humboldt St.

I'm definitely going to be giving my team the speech that the manager in Major League gives...

"You guys won today. You guys won last week, now that's two in a row. If you win next week, that's called a winning streak. It has happened before."

Thanks for the support everyone, I am very proud of my guys and we will not settle with what we have achieved so far. It's very nice to surprise people instead of disappoint people around the league :D
