Agreed, but those comments are made generally made by players less informed out east, and they are made moreso about the quality of play, and not necessarily about the way the league is run or administration of the teams.

When I show up to what I think will be a good game of lacrosse between two large GLLL schools, and there is a keg on the sideline.....Well I don't think it gets more bush-league than that. In my opinion, I really think the sport should have come farther than that over the past 10 years or so.

For us, if they play lacrosse and are willing to play us in the fall, that is all that matters. Not that I am jazzed to have my team play against grad students (or men's club teams for that matter), if they are going to give us a quality game and we don't have to travel over three hours for a game, count us in.

Augustana looks to further a relationship with the GLLL and its teams for fall ball purposes. Their schools are much closer to us than those of the UMLL and CCLA and it just makes good sense both on and off the field, us in our situation. Now others have their own agendas (or vendettas) to serve but for us the GLLL offers a cheaper alternative for our fall ball needs.

This fall Augustana is looking forward to playing in the MadCity and Northern Illinois tournaments.

Re: who's Mark King?

I apologize for leaving this paragraph in my post, as it might have been meant for my eyes only...I thought that if Hal was sending it to me in his email that it had also been mentioned on my previous post. I don't know why he put it in this email, but I suppose it deserves some clarification now.

Mark King was my HS coach at Verona HS and left the program after my senior year to coach at Denver. During my junior year in HS, there was some friction between Mark and the UW program - Mark believed, as many of us seem to, that UW should form a separate team to join the MCLA, leaving a twin team in the GLLL for those who wanted to save money, etc. From what I've heard, he went about forming this team without the knowledge of the University or the current UW Lax team, then put on his website that he was the head UW Lax coach. Hal was rightfully angry and Mark was soon forced to resign from his post as the President of the WI US Lax chapter. I think Mark was trying to do what he thought was best for the sport in the area, but did it the entirely wrong way and stepped on quite a few toes in doing so.

So...I feel a bit guilty that this found its way onto the forums as it probably should have remained a somewhat private matter, but I figured I might as well try to explain things now that it was already posted.

Games v. GLLL school DO NOT count at OOC games for the spring.

You are, of course, free to play GLLL teams in the fall or spring. But the games are not OOC games for purposes of fulfilling the requirement.

Well put. Marquette will also be at Mad City. Too bad we aren't in the same bracket. I could have shown you how Ireton can stomp on McLean :) See you there!!

Should we ever play, you know the bet will be a large Slurpee from 7-Eleven, a pasta pizza from Genorous George's and a keg from Dixie Liquor.

It's awesome that the first thing you see as you head over the bridge towards Georgetown (if memory serves correct) is Dixie Liquor. :o

Oh, and you can go ahead and throw in one of the Big Chili Dogs from 7-Eleven which I haven't had in years unfortunately (though my stomach thanks me :) )
