Don't be mad because our colors were derived from a Religous holiday that gets girls to take their tops off.

Maybe when the out of state (non-Texas) LSA teams can field realistically competative teams, then the LSA should maybe think about changing it's name. Oops might that be construed as being offensive?

Lets stay focused on everyone's favorite debatable topic, name change for the conference.

New name

Postby JStoops on Wed Mar 16, 2005 2:52 pm

This is a long shot to make it as the new conference name, but I'm going to throw it out there anyways...
Texas Intercollegiate Teams Supporting Louisiana and Oklahoma

It's a long conference name but it can be shortened to TITS.
Has a nice ring to it.

I find it amusing that everyone keeps arguing for these joke names in order to try to dance around the subject. The LSA is a moniker that doesn't fit it's constituents, and obviously some people are too much into their Texas pride to change the name.

tlaing,

what names do you propose we change it to? it seems no people outside of Texas have offered any new names...and i find it amusing that lone star alliance doesn't fit it's constituents. does "alliance" not suggest we have an "alliance" with teams out of state? just curious on what you think a better fitting name would be.
