Another intense quarterfinal game. McIntosh was up early (3 - 0) and let Northview back in it. NHS used a dominant 2nd half and posted a nice run (7 - 1 goal run) to pull away from McIntosh to earn the win.
Northview is at Westminster and Lassiter is at Harrison. Both games are scheduled for Tuesday evening.
Northview has some talent, but they are facing an up hill battle at Westminster. Lassiter/Harrison was a tight 2-goal affair back in March.
Both games should be interesting.

True ... and the suspect part of Northview's team is their defense ... if Westminster comes up with any offense at all this game could be over quickly ... 'cause the strongest part of Westminster's team is their defense ....
And after seeing how the brackets have shaken out and who's winning and where the games are scheduled to be played - I have to say I think it's going to be a "good" thing when May 12th's finals come along ...
Because if everyone wins like they're supposed to - both men's and women's finals will be played at Westminster. And I think that's a great situation ! I really believe that both men's and women's championship games should be played at the same venue on the same day .... that's the way it used to be and it was a great day of lacrosse action. And I miss that !

I thought that northview was up first. THey started with the lead then mcintosh came back with 4 straight. You're right about northview's defense. Needs to step it up especially against this westminster team

Yup, you are right. My mistake. I couldn't believe how unsettled things were at the end (both ways) in the final few minutes when it was still only a 2-goal margin.

Well, if westminster D is on, it's over. Northview's hopes is really gonna rely on the play or their defense, especially at the middies. should be a good game. On the other side the lassiter/harrison game should be pretty interesting too. Anybody know much about the lovett upset?

Well, the prospect looked good for both girls' and boys' high school championships to be held at Westminster .... but the Northview girls have changed all that ...
The Northview girls beat the Westminster girls last night 9-7 to get to their first ever championship game - and the game will be played at Northview. Congrats to the Northview girls ..... !!
You know, I'd be tempted to call that win an upset if it wasn't for the fact that earlier in the season, Northview beat a previously undefeated (for the last 3 seasons!) and #1 ranked Milton team by 1 goal .... and it just so happens that Milton is also in the final - Milton beat Lovett in the other semi last night.
As good as the boys' match-up between Lassiter and Westminster looks, this girls' final between Northview and Milton looks just as good and promises to be a great rematch !!
But I still wish the boys' and girls' finals were being played in one place !!

That the way they do it in football for the final game, one team gets to host. All 10 semis are played at GA Dome and then they return to campuses for the final game.
H.S. Basketball is probably the only GHSA sport they do off campus for the Final Four in each division.

how do they decide who gets to host?
hs teams usually don't have the same amount of games , vs the same competition.

All sites throughout the state playoff bracket are pre-determined.
They rotate each year which "area" gets to host and which areas play each other in each round, just like they do with other sports.
IN GA, there are 8 areas in lacrosse with 4 - 6 teams each:

Areas are determined mostly by geography.

I'm not a big fan of how GA does it with High School sports. Not really fair to some programs IMO. Just about everyone that plays LAX anymore uses LAXPOWER to set their seeding, I'd think in GA it's a little more difficult with the number of schools that are playing in comparison to some of the areas that have a lot more schools playing.
