After 2 frustrating losses 1 vs Colorado School of Mines then 1 at Metro State College, we finally pulled it together down in Albuquerque.
Unofficially we had 35 shots to their 13.
Basically I think we just took them by surprise and we used that against them and road that the whole game. We also used all of their miscues against them too, "The Quicksand Effect" way.
Another key was shutting down their shooter #17 by playing a tight man defense and keeping his touches to a minimum.
All in all it was a great weekend for UCCS.
Final Score UCCS 16 UNM 1

Mike:
I am sorry there were no surprises. We have a start up program with 1-2 kids that have ever played the game before this season and we are paying for it. We also have a lot of injuries and I don't believe you had that many shots.
You have a great team and you beat us on fundamentals plain and simple. We did accomplish one positive thing in that game, is that we were able to clear the ball successfully most of the game something we have not done much of all season. Congrats on a great win and good luck in your upcoming games.

Hey everyone in RMLC Land,
I just wanted to let you all know that I am no longer with UCCS....I have recently moved to Japan. UCCS still exists as a team and are gaining members as we speak. So if anyone is trying to get in touch with UCCS their contact person is
Charles Hurlbut-Club President
churlbut@uccs.edu
I believe Matt Elsner may also be assisting with the team as well.
But if you can't get a hold of either of them....I will still be able to convey your message to one of them if necessary. I know they are looking for some games this fall! We made some great strides and are now able to play games in the brand new Field Turf Stadium. They just need to be able to schedule around soccer.
So, thank you to everyone who assisted me in my questions and helping me get UCCS moving in the right direction.
