The talk of the LSA Forum will currently be SMU's win over Texas. That's definite.
I am just curious about the Eastern Michigan and Univ of North Texas game which started at 6 pm.
I know that the UT-Arlington at Oklahoma State game result won't surface until tomorrow morning. Once I hear from Jim Headrick, I will announce that.
Until then, see you all in the morning in this forum.

Here in Houston, Oakland played well vs a good Tech team. It was nice to get everyone in the fourth. The fields sucked it was very muddy. Alot of upsets tonight, A&M lost in OT and so did Texas. We play Texas at 3 tommarow. Good luck to all the teams here.

speaking of the fields...who chose clear lake park (a softball complex) to host this houston invitational? our game tonight was on a field that was 83 yards in length, compared to 110 yards (regulation). the lighting on the field could be compared to that of "security" lighting at your local gas station or mall parking lot. i couldn't even see all the great aggie and wildcat fans that made the trip. did i mention our 83 yard field was not lined when we showed up at 6:45 for our game? our start was delayed 30 minutes b/c of this. very disappointed with the facilities for this great weekend of lacrosse.
there were some exciting games tonight. smu in overtime over texas, oakland over texas tech and new hampshire over us in overtime. not sure how all the games ended up but there is still a lot of lacrosse left this weekend. we'll see what happens.
having problems sleeping...thus this post.

seriously. the light faced away from the field. The puddles were filled in with mud, and the field felt no bigger than a t-ball infield.
it felt like a sick amusement park ride. ****** houston weather.

Anybody have any info on the texas vs. smu game?
I had to read it twice to see that SMU won...
Looks like A&M and Texas will fall out of the top 25 for sure now, and with Tech's loss to OAKLAND it looks like only the AQ from the LSA will make it to MN. Just when we all thought that the league was jumping to the next level; a season like this happens.

Eastern Michigan did not show up in Houston this weekend. So there was no EMU/UNT game last night.

Due to weather reported to me in an email this morning from both teams, the game between Southwestern and UT-San Antonio in San Antonio today was postponed to March 6, 2005
Good luck to the teams playing in Houston, New Orleans, Fort Worth, Stillwater, and Austin.

As for the fields-that was joke. The culprit is the Houston Sports Authority and I have it on good info that it was the best they could do with the weather and and times, etc. Originally there were plans to have it a big local stadium, Rice Uof H, etc. Not sure what happened though. I don''t think George is at fault, I understood that HSA ran with the ball. It's year one, it'l get better-it could have been worse.
As for the Texas/SMU game. Smu played well in the first half and was actually up at half. Texas battle back and opened a 3-4 goal lead by late in the third. SMU slowly but surely battled back and even held a late two goal lead. UT tied it real late. The big call was a substitution box call (questionable at best) that gave SMU possession in OT. Then another call was made against the T-sips and SMU scored. Great game, I just hate to see unnecessary flags in that situation. Lke the NHL, let 'em play, no advantage was gained on any of those calls. In all SMU came to play, I think they suprised UT.
A&M and UNH was scrap from the start, very physical. UNH close d #17 is a monster, who is that guy? UNH suprised they hell out of me, remember it's real early for them, hence the trip South. They are ballers. Not real fancy, but you'd hate to see them in a dark alley. They are a throwback to old Baltimore public school ball. Anyway, in OT, the Ags got sloppy with the ball in their own end. The ball wound up never leaving their end, UNH got a restart and found an open look, you kind of felt it coming. The thing about A&M is that they are young, real young, look at a program.
In all the fields and were lighting were bad, but the games were quality. Oakland handled Tech pretty easily. But no knock on Tech, Oakland's Attack is incredibly fast, even in that mudpit. They are one of the best I've seen in a while. Can't say best in the county yet, as I have't seen a couple of other teams that I want to. But they are good.

If the field is not lined properly or does not have the right dimensions, isn't that a 3 minute unreleasable on the home team? How did they handle this for the tournament?
