sohotrightnow wrote:Perhaps he did have those saves. This has been going on all year though. 31 saves in one game, 22 saves in another game. It is borderline ridiciulous. The reason I bring it up is because other coaches around the country who have not seen him play are going to vote this guy as an All-American because of his gaudy numbers. He is a decent goalie, but you would think he is the next Quint Kessenich with the stats that are kept for him. One of Tech's players even PMed me and said that the goalie records the stats and does the write-ups!!! Rather convenient don't you think???

Haha, could it be that I actually agree with "sohotrightnow," man why don't you just let him put down as many saves as he wants?!? 31,42, 112, it doesn't matter, just make sure the other team shot the ball at least that many times.

Well, putting stat numbers aside...looks like the Cali teams are bringing in some pretty solid wins in OOC play this year. They seem to have more quality teams emerge this year from the WCLL than in previous.

it seems like sohotrightnow has a personal vendetta against the guy. i can promise you the goalie does NOT do the write ups nor fill in the game stats. i find it hard to believe he attended any of the tech games he said he did, there were maybe 15 people at the tech v. ucsd game. if anyone would like a copy of any of tech's games send my a pm and i can e-mail you a copy.
the shot difference was 50 - 19. you're right though, by you're reasoning i'm sure they just completely missed cage on 30 of their shots. quit being ignorant.

Well sometimes stats for goalies can be misleading because some bad stat keepers will look at shots taken by a team and goals scored by that team. They will immediately think that the difference is the amount of saves. However in lacrosse we don't just count the shots on goal, we count shots around the goal. Probably something needs to change in the stat keeping.

Really, this would be a good time to start a new thread on discussions on stats keeping especially recording saves. Since this thread is mainly to discuss and report scores for LSA Week 8, someone can feel free to start a new thread to discuss how do a team record saves, etc. as long as this is done in a mutual respectful way.
