Danza, I think it isn't the pointless picks that are a problem, it is the people taking offense to the picks. The way I look at it, picking games is just a fun thing to do. Whether you get lucky (TheLoo) or unlucky (myself, I could have sworn MO St. and Wash U were going to tie) nobody should take too much pride on it because like you said, people aren't doing homework on these things. I'm not about to do hours of studying on the like opponents of Creighton and Iowa before they play. What does anybody care if someone they don't know and have never seen you play picks against you by 50. Does that have any effect on the actual game? No, all it means is you can go back to the certain somebody and tell them they were wrong (which they probably don't care because they forgot their predictions anyway). Which is gratifying for all of 2 seconds.

Actually, KSchuh I think you sound like an idiot. Personally, the majority of my prep for the week is looking at the message board and seeing if I should even bother going to the game. The way I see it, if more than three people pick us to lose or if the average point differential in the picks is over 5, then I just skip the game. I take a very personal interest in what everyone who hasn't seen me play thinks about how I will do against someone else they don't know about. So please don't blow it off. Do you even play lacrosse? What are you doing on this board?

SMS, I am with KSchuh on this one. It is a message board, who cares what other people think. Go out and play the game. When I played, I could care less what others thought of my team or my own personal play. You play the game on the field, not on some internet message board Al Gore claims he made. That is just my 2 cents.

That's just ridiculous, that is exactly double the bush league cut off line which is currently set at 27, and Illinois State won't snoop to those levels. I've got Illinois State by 26, unless #54 on MSU is healthy enough to play, then the 54 point spread sounds about right.

mabey a little criticism is what SMS needs. they are a strugling team that sadly, lots of teams in the country take very lightly. i know if i was still playing that if somebody said i was going to lose, i would get that much more fired up about a game. SMS needs a little fire under them so they can still salvage this season, they have the talent to do so.
side note: I am a fan of the lions, not a player. I used to play, but not for them. My thoughts are mine, and dont reflect anybody in the lindenwood organization.
my pick: illnois state by 27 1/2
i am anxiously waiting to see which direction the Missouri State team will take.

Aren't you from Houston? If so, Dallas lacrosse players are much better than Houston.....

First off, I don't need criticism from two girls who have never picked up a stick (psterling and kschuch) and as for lionsfan's remarks, being 0-4 I wouldn't say that nationally teams are taking us lightly, I would say they don't even know who we are (therefore cannot take us with any degree of weight or measurement).
I think our point differential is somewhere around -40 for this one, so I wish MoSt the best this weekend. I'll be rooting from Springfield.
Wait, I pick MSU to win by 110 goals. Now I can play.

But what happens if Mike Ditka is playing against you that day?

A team coached by Ditka, or Ditka Himself?
(either way Ditka, just looking for clarification.)

first off, it's pstirling with the cool scottish spelling (see Battle of Stirling in Braveheart). How could I have taught a young hotshot named "Goose" everything he know's about lacrosse at a lacrosse camp circa 2000 without ever picking up a stick?
I will say that Missouri State games tend to be highly entertaining, and they have a large traveling fan base (at least to St. Louis) which make games more enjoyable to watch.
