Bare in mind that Tennessee played a triple overtime game the night before to play again the following afternoon against a fully rested UGA team.

So Tennessee played three games in three days, but HOW good is Ga tech based on an examination of these games? Not as talented as predicted?

it was a good game.

Oh wow that sounds like the best offensive plan ever conceived on par with
Texas A&M's no slide plan.

Here's exactly how Georgia has beaten us 3 years in a row:
Hustle
Hustle
and more Hustle....

That being said, I wouldn't use this game to judge GA Tech. If you recall, we beat Tech last year (and FSU, imagine that) and then lost to Georgia. And as we all know Tech won the SELC Championship, and FSU joined them in National Tournament.

Davidson vs. USC

Postby Lom on Sun Feb 13, 2005 1:33 am

What happened between Davidson and USC. Is Davidson that good, or did USC not show up to play?

It was definitely a great win for the Bulldogs, but you might want to wait a bit before trash talking on the boards...some of us remember a UGA team that went 0-fer not too long ago, and nobody rubbed their noses in it (at least not in the fuorum).

On any given day, yadda, yadda. UT has usually been the team that guts it out and gets the tough win. Two close losses this early certainly doesn't help, but don't be shocked to see them in Atlanta this spring. Not having seen them yet tyhis year, I am in no position to analize, but suffering close losses like that can mean a team is unable to finish opportunities. We had that problem at FSU in '03 - OT losses to Auburn, Stanford, and Tennessee.

Don't look for this weekend to do anything but make the Vols practice harder...

Good luck.

We won at USC last year by a few goals and this year have significantly more depth with a great freshman class. We responded well to their great transition game and eventually their offense started to get really frustrated. In USC's defense, their bench seemed to be small but last year we were equally shorthanded when we travelled down to SC. We are looking forward to showing our talent the rest of the season and making our mark in the SELC.

Winthrop Weekend

Postby LaxLuthor on Sun Feb 13, 2005 7:26 pm

Citadel 21, Winthrop 8...Winthrop opened up a 7-5 lead in the 2nd quarter but injuries depleted a thin bench and the Bulldogs controlled the second half.

Winthrop 10, Western Carolina 2...the Eagles were able to control the tempo of the game, and made the most of poor field conditions in Rock Hill
