eh

Good point. I think that provides a culmination of the "dedication" and "effort" that has the masses ranting and raving.

I think the most important factor is not dedication, some LSA teams are very well managed, but rather, I think the main focus should be experience. LSA teams can't just go out and schedule every big dog in the league for an OOC game and expect to win. Keep your eyes big, but keep them honest. Throw in a CSU or Michigan if you can, but what's the harm in tackling some of the not so highly ranked/ unranked teams in the league? The "dedicated" and "organized" teams play them too, ya know?

Any OOC game would benefit a team because I doubt there's too many teams out there that play ball like southern boyz do it. Not a statement of performance, but rather, one of style. ANYWAYS, everyone should try to make an extensive, but BALANCED OOC schedule to gain experience in the national spotlight.

I love that fact that Karl throws Lubbock in there, when referring to trips. With gas prices, if you have to play Tech out there, you better budget accordingly :P Tech should work on some of their neighbors to start clubs-Abilene Christian, ASU, etc. West Texas is a lax wasteland. Here's hoping UTEP starts a club (wouldn't you love to budget for that trip).

Even the boys at Tech would have a 3 hour haul for that game... much less a 5 hour drive for anything else. I can't see why they don't just get a team aircraft already... sheesh.

What about New Mexico? Brent or anyone else, what is/was the status of lax out in that area. I know there used to be a team somewhere out there.

BTW Brent-Check out North Rockland Football on Maxpreps.com, they're clobbering everyone.

John Westfall, ex-Head Coach of Liberty, is helping to start New Mexico's team and I think they are looking to join the RMLC in 2006-2007.

I think it is a little too early to point out winners... But I do think that after this weekend we will have some ground work to debate over incoming players, and the success of the teams.

If a school has a division 1 football team (i.e. Texas, A&M, Texas Tech, LSU, oklahoma State, North Texas) they are a Division A team.

Only by the MDIA (national) level. As I understand, a 1-A Football school can play down at the MDIA Div. B level, but they are not eligibile for post season, polls, and/or awards. Teams like Nebraska (GRLC) & Alabama (SELC) have played in their respective conferences' Division B last year.

In another thread under LSA Previews, I mentioned that OU and TCU are not eligible for LSA Division B championships. If both move up to Div. A, they are then eligible for LSA Division A championships.

It is really that simple as Sonny is correct about teams in Div 1-A moving down to Div B and not being eligible for postseason play.
