Incoming freshman class

Postby Rob Graff on Mon Aug 29, 2005 5:40 pm

Kyle Pasiuk played at Medaille. One year. Then he played last year. Thus, he's a junior this year.

Pete did not play at Wooster. He was not on the team's roster that spring. Thus last year was his first of college lacrosse, and this year he's a sophomore.

Duluth does have a reasonable large army of players with talent with great depth at all positions it will be fun to see how the UMLL does as individual teams and how well our teams do against out of conference teams which will get our league more respect at the national's.

Just my thoughts about this year season

I got an email a few weeks ago from one of the incoming first year students at St. Olaf. He is a big Norwegian who studied for a year in the US. He has some previous experience playing long stick in Kentucky. He said he was probably going to play. He found me using one of our alumni databases. I have heard of other guys through different avenues that were planning on playing at Olaf. St. Olaf never knows what they have until after the first few practices. The St. Olaf team will probably meet later this week then have an informal deal next week. You never know what will happen with that team. One year we had nobody with playing experience coming in and the next they get someone like Jack Mc. It is all who shows up and decides to play. Who knows with that team? I am sure Fischmann will have something to say soon. Best wishes to all teams in getting together this fall.

i know many teams lack a coach who puts effort into their program but all it takes is someone that knows how to do a little web publishing to make a simple "recruiting form" that you can submit electronically. Kids these days just sit around on AIM and look at stuff at the internet and they will stroll and submit a form even if they are not that intrested. You can use the same form also for alumni to start a data base. It is very simple these days to make a website and you would be amazed at how it can help a program. It is a lot easier then just placing a few posters around campus or sending out a much hated campus wide email.

I know Lance Wheeler went from playing junior hockey to playin hockey at SJU. Any word on if he is going to play, or should i say, will his hockey coach be allowing him to play on St. Johns lax team. He is a good addition to any teams roster.

Lance is goign to attempt to play both. Although i know that hockey will be his first priority, John Harrington (SJU Hockey Coach) said it was ok for him to play both. He was at the Hot Dish on Saturday and Sunday. He has not touched a lax stick in two years because of Juniors but it is coming back to him and he is a great addition to the squad.
