As reported by Harding (Corbin):

Harding 8
SLU 6

Another muddy one to start the season off.

LU vs Harding

Postby John Bifulco on Sun Feb 13, 2005 10:54 pm

I went to the LU game last night against Harding. LU is looking very solid, with size, depth and good sticks at every position. The updates LU is doing to Hunter Standium will make it one of th premier venues to play in the country. This is going to be a great season for Division A in the GRLC as we continue to progress as a conference.

I have to tip my hat to Harding as well. Although clearly out-matched against LU, they played a very physical game and the day after went and beat SLU.

There has been alot of buzz about transfers combs and Pashea from LU, but looking at the GRLC site I noticed that combs didnt have any points and pashea only had 2. Of course others on the team made up for them, but I was suprised to see this. Was Combs playing?
Just curious because we play them later in the year.

Lindenwood is def legit, although the score was 23-6 so Beckner did call the spread. They had incredible midfield depth and a bunch of great shooters. Their D is real aggressive and I think they started a Frosh kid between the pipes. Overall, I was real impressed and again I think they will win the Div A.

The game against SLU was a mudpit (if you saw the conference tournament last year, this was worse). The speed dodgers were neutralized on both sides due to the six inch deep slop. Just a good game when you get past all the muck. I due have to say that the SLU guys were class acts since they let us use their apts/dorms to shower afterwards.

From what I hear Pashea is unhappy at LU and is no longer playing. Does anybody else know anything about this, just wondering.

Didn't really know what to expect from SLU this year/this game as they are always a wild card in how they play. Granted the mud probably changed how the game normally would have been played but also impressed with Harding's win. I could see how my previous statement could be taken as in SLU should have dominated Harding but they didn't but that is not what I was going for.

Good win Corbin.

KU 9 SMU 13

It was a good game, a little muddy, but ok still. SMU brought an extra car load of guys to play us on Sat. than they had for OSU Friday night. KU came out first and then it was a battle back and forth through the first half ending at 7-4 SMU. KU bounced back to 11-9 with 4 minutes left in the 4th, but SMU scored twice very quickly and we couldn't make it up. They had some solid attackmen, and midfielders. Overall a good game for both teams.

KU 13 OSU 1

This game was real muddy. Ground balls were difficult to say the least. Our starting lineup didn't play that much in an effort to get the younger guys some PT and experience. OSU is getting better on each passing year. They do hit pretty well.
