Best West Coast Matchup of the Season?

USC played Whittier tonight in a controlled two 20 minute half scrimmage and lost by a score of 7-3 or 4. This was without three of USC's starters due to injury and illness. Both teams then took turns practicing man-up and man-down and clears.

I can't comment directly because I didn't play (couldn't get out of bed with the flu), but from what my teammates said, they looked really good on defense, applied a lot of pressure, but didn't look much better (if at all) than the top tier WCLL teams (SB, U of A, SSU, etc).

It was just a scrimmage so it may not be a great comparison, but I wouldn't be surprised if SB really gives them a tough time this year. I wonder how well they'll do in their NCAA match-ups...
