Minnesota High School Prognostication/Discussion
maybe I say it lacks talent because the 'lesser known' schools are catching up and being able to hold down some of the top scorers? I just felt that in past years more players (of course I have not seen all but most) were able to take over a game. I saw Senn play twice last year I think and BSM did a good job on him, but I am sure he was built up so much I expected a lot. Where is he going next year?

My opinion - talent deeper than ever, thus harder for the 1 "Super" player to win it all. As an example, I watched Blake's practice - for a short time yesterday. They were doing 1/1's - they demonstrated in just that short time that they have a balanced squad that can shoot on the run, defensively force to wings, keep sticks on high side, and finish with a control the goalie fake. Not just 1 or two were doing this - most were. And that - to me - is indicative of what I see in many other teams this year - more good players doing lots of things really well, such that the "superstar" doesn't look as "different" from the others.
Will we still have "superstars" - of course, and especially as we have more and more better athletes take the game up at a younger age.
Are there still many low skilled teams - of course, but they are decreasing in number. One reason for this is that more and more UMLL guys go back to HS and bring knowledge with them to the HS level.
I've seen Charlie play for 1 series in HS - not enough to judge personally. But from what I'm told by others who've seen him play (and who's opinion I respect), including college coaches - he has a great stick, shot, game vision and game sense. I don't know where he's going to school.

Brian Jenson from SJU and Andy Olson from Migh Tech, class of 03' from hastings are taking on the head coaching roll. According to Jenson, Matty is moving to Colorado next year and he is just helping out the team till Brian and Andy can get back from school, and commit themselves. And also they got moved to the south confrence with shattuck, owatonna, mankato, rochester, and prior lake.
Armstrong this year will just ride Forsyth to some big wins, but it would shock me if they could handle the likes of a EP or Jefferson.

Breck should improve from what little I know.
Charlie Senn is a very nice player, and they have some other talent as well, Kitzenberg, McKeon, etc.
Pinto should benefit from Chad Herr's presence.
Team unity goes along way, if Breck finds it, they could go far. A new coach may help them get over the hump.
As for Kennedy, I know a bit about them from my rather short coaching stint. Hochman is as coachable, hard-working, and talented as it gets. He's worked to improve his game with relatively little leadership. With the right coach, he could be a franchise caliber attackmen.
Not to underestimate Chris Impagliazzo. This guy can play, good stick, good vision, and excellent footwork. An all around athelete who's capable of taking over and imposing his will. I think he's leaning toward hockey, but if I were coaching college ball, I'd be all over this kid. Imagine a raw, unpolished Ben Mooney.
Kennedy has a good goalie, and some young defensemen. Mahowald will lead the defense, but they may be too thin at midfield to make use of their abilities on offense. I may be mistaken however, as it's been some time since I've seen them play.

Forsyth is goign to D1 Stonybrook on a partial scholarship. He had a sweet Notre Dame camp, and North Carolina camp that raised his stock quite a bit. I played with him in high school and he can flat out ball. He is a bigger left handed middie that has a sweet shot, strong and his speed and defense are excellent too. A great football and hockey player too.
And to think his first coach was the Hellenack- uggg!!
