Section 1 (at least it is Section 1 now)
We mostly took our beatings from Yorktown. My senior year it was 17-2. We jumped out to a 2-0 lead...our coach was later quoted in the paper saying "We must have made them mad."
Add Lakeland, John Jay, Mamaroneck and Brewster (they always ran that sweet weekend tournament with night games) to the list of rivals.

Ah, Brewster. Growing up in Connecticut when the drinking age was 21 there, and 18 in NY - Brewster was like Mecca - talked about in reverential terms.
I played for three years at Hall in West Hartford when there were only three public schools, Wilton, Conard and Hall. We'd play Wilton, Conard twice and the rest were prep schools. In three years we never won a game! (No snide remarks needed)

Tlaing is just jealous-JERSEY BOY! Yorktown used to rip us pretty good too. 23-3 my senior year. My claim to fame was that Brian Kuczma was guarding me and I scored by swatting a loose ball ala Gretzky style in from a scrum in front of their net. he was pretty ticked-crucial goal too, pulled us to within 10 at the time. Paul Carcaterra scored five think and Rob Kavovit (both future 'cuse stars) had like ten points or something. It got so bad that old man Murph (the Yorktown legend) offered one of our attackmen a chair. We saw the ball maybe five times on our end. Brutal.

I only went to college in NY for my freshman and sophomore years. Hartwick College - Oneonta, NY.
As far as new york is concerned, Strong Island holds the tops in my heart. Spent several weekends there and never got tired of the meatball sandwiches.

Ali,
Tony and I can name a bunch of great Italian Restaurants / Pizzerias in the Ossining / Tarrytown area that will make you think you died and went to heaven. Stromboli's, Calzones, Cannoli's, Pasta e fagioli!!! I was smart. I married an Italian girl that could cook and then moved to Texas. I owe it all to her for my girth!

I am flattered that ya'll remembered the muffler story. Looking back now, it was pretty funny. I ended up getting it out with a pair of salad tongs and a young kid from down the street.....while it sounds really wierd, I had to come up with something. I did have an interesting time explaining to the kids dad why I had his sons arm up a muffler with me looking on with such excitement and enthusiasm. He ended up grabbing the ball with his hand and we almost lost the tongs at the same time....I thought the stories yall responded with about accidents while playing were hilarious too.
Tom is a HUGE fan of the gator story, so I will toss it out there real quick.
****I am SURE the LSA nor the USLIA condones any cruelty to animals or any sort of harassment of any kind to endangered species....
Last september we were going teal hunting down at my place in the South LA marsh. Its a 45 minute boat ride to the camp and 2 hours total from the nearest hospital. Following a few "round the fire" beverages, we decided to go toss out our decoys for the next morning...it was about 1 AM....We could see tons of big gators (4-9 feet) on top of the ponds, and I decided that one of my friends should grab one and keep it. We shine the spot light in ones eyes and he sees the head and the tail, the body itself was under a lily pad. We estimated him to be about a foot long....perfect to play with. He reaches in the water and grabs the gators tail....trouble was, it was the wrong tail....the gator he grabbed was 5 feet and was in a really bad mood.
He jerked it over into the boat and it whipped its body around and took a chunk out of my friends shirt...In an attempt to throw him back in the water he then bit my friends arm....right across his arteries on his wrists. At this point the thing was in the boat and really mad...and my buddy was bleeding pretty bad....long story short....wrap up adams arm with my shirt, make sure he's ok....and the fate of the alligator is something I will leave to your imagination.

I never had a steady girlfriend like you, but I did get kicked in the balls once by a mule.

It's all in the delivery-I'm sure the alligator one in funny in its entirety but the muffler one still rocks. Who was the guys who added the story about the kid throwing against the wall and the ball took a funny rebound and nailed him in the nuts? That one was pretty fun too.

I just got back from reffing a game in houston (woodlands - 3 vs Episcopal-H - 4) and this kid on the woodlands was playing middie defense and turned to face the goal after a shot was made... at the same time the ball bounced off the pipe and nailed him in the crotch... needless to say we had to stop the game because he wasn't wearing a cup but the poor kid didn't even have time to see it coming at him... as soon as he turned it was there. ouch

reffing a soccer game last week, there was a scrum in front of the goal and the ball popped out towards midfield. an attacking mid ran onto it (a dream shot from a midfielder) and hit it really good, really flat but rising. it hit the crossbar and came back down really hard on a diagonal. meanwhile, just before the shot was sent in, the goalkeeper had been fallen down trying to get the ball initally.
well, the keeper was still down on the ground and the ball caromed off the bar right into the keepers crotch. he balls up in a big ball and lets out a big "UGH" noise. the ball went out for a corner kick, but we had to wait a few minutes for the kick to be taken.

peace.
