Benji,
It is obviously very difficult for everyone to see club lax games. The top teams will be hyped on message boards until the games are shown on ESPN and analysts tell us other wise.
My first response to you was concerning CSU's attitude I believe. I referenced the stickers because it takes fortitude to continue doing what you did as a team last year when you had your leader. My contention is that the Rams are full of swager and bravado despite losing Plonkey.
And in my final comment, congratulations on beating A&M. I hope you make to to Blaine. Kurzweil deserves it.

Didn't CSU beat UVA this year? When you can field that good a team without scholarships and the full support of your athletic department in this league I think you're doing pretty good. Getting a D-I program has lot more to do with money and the school's athletic department/admin than the talent of your players.
there a guys that have played for CSU that have been good enough to play D-1. we have had transfers from big schools as well as kids who have been looked at by big schools. a main reason why these guys chose to go to CSU is the fact that they can still play competitive lacrosse and have a chance to win a championship, but also be able to enjoy college while they are there. they go to uslia schools so they dont have to worry about the stress of playing for a D-1 school. granted it is club, but three national championships in 6 years, not bad at any level.

Congrats to the Red Raiders. When was the last time Texas Tech beat U of Texas or A&M?
Scaz says 92 was the last time Tech won versus A&M, thats when they last won the old SWLA college division title. i was thinking circa 94, like PigPen says.
peace.

Yep, but they lost in the playoffs to U of Texas. I am sure that A&M is aware of that fact.
It is going to take Tech improving their game all year for them to win in the playoffs. I am sure that A&M will continue to improve as their season progresses. I am more interested in how the voters will see the Tech victory, hopfully they will get some respect get a much deserved spot in the top 25. It would be nice to have three LSA teams representing in the polls.

Yeah, some respect would be great. Its kinda hard when you typically sit in the shadowed end of a triumvirate (TAMU, UT, TTU)... not even sure if i spelled that correctly.
Last year's playoff situation was a close match all-around. TAMU had a great, but close, game against Baylor while TTU and UT also played a close and exciting game. There probably weren't many favoring UT to win it all, but they did. This year's playoff scenario, with six teams making it now, and at least three of those teams being in very tough competition with each other, should provide an excellent two weeks of lacrosse come April. Can't wait!

That is the reason I am looking at a top club team. I'm tired of the stress of NCAA lax. I'd rather work hard on my own time then arrive to practice at 6am in a division 3 gymnasium to practice. I'd rather go to The Edge at Fort Collins, or BYU's full indoor complex, or the beach at UCSB. The stress at an NCAA school is unreal compared to the club level. A friend of mine played fall ball at Ohio State. He transferred in the spring semester of that year. Why? Six hours a day of fall ball. He didn't even have time for the football games. Who wants to waste their youth like that?

A&M lost to Tech in the semis of the SWLA league playoffs in '95. Tech went on to lose to Texas in the finals that year, beginning Texas' run of 5 straight SWLA/LSA titles until A&M took the crown back in 2000.

Congrats to St. Johns on three big wins. We watched them vs. Trinity on Saturday. Thought the game was kind of sloppy. We went into Sunday with high hopes. We had our full team with us for the first time and thought we would make a good showing. They thumped us. But thats how it goes. You give a good team an opening and they take advantage.
It was awesome for our young guys to see quality ball. CSU/Tech and CSU/Texas were the games they caught. Gave them a real idea of what top notch lax in the LSA and beyond is about.
We were only slightly upset about being let off of the T-shirt. What was that? Just cause we had only one game we dont make the shirt??? (not really upset, just curious to what happened)

Commit early to going back again next year, regardless of the weather, and I bet you'll be remembered next time. I know some of the teams were unhappy they had come so far and with the weather, UTA kicked them off the intramural fields. The turf games were great, but the old style turf sure makes the games last a LONG time because of the ball constantly going out of bounds on every missed pass or shot.

Not jumpin all over anyone here or trying to make a big issue out of something that shouldnt be. But we were committed plenty early. Even had a game against Ferris State which was cancelled a week or so prior to the weekend. Not a big deal either.
The turf was fun. Havent played on it since high school. Highlander Stadium in HP, TX. Hard as a rock. Much faster game but takes forever. Thanks to UTA for putting the weekend together, by the way.
