OK, I've finally crossed the threshold, I've just got to know. Please forgive my ignorance, I have wondered for a long time, and I have a couple plausible ideas, but I really do want to have the correct info as to exactly what the "cat" in Catlax refers to, and I don't want to assume. I even went so far as to do an internet search, but (other than the references to your esteemed self that it finds on something called "uslia.com") all I find is -- well, "A palatable formula for use as a feline laxative. Aids in the removal and prevention of hairballs in cats." -- and I'm sure that really doesn't have anything to do with it. Again, please forgive and humor poor uninformed me...

Saint Ignatius' high school mascot is the Wildcat. No one really calls them Catlaxers except for my strange father Catlaxman.

AAAAAHHHhhhhhh, I feel much more well-informed already, thanks very much for the education. That was generally one of my plausible guesses, although I wouldn't have been able to narrow down what SORT of cat the mascot was, and although S.I. seemed a likely possibility, I didn't see a mention of mascot on their website. Another possibility (somewhat more remote) was lacrosse players from CATholic schools...or maybe from Catalina, or...

Seriously, though, I really WAS wondering, and I do appreciate the response. Now I know.
