Postby dunkonu25 on Wed Sep 13, 2006 12:28 am

Coaches and Team Presidents,

My name is Dan Doehler and I am the Assistant Coach at Mountain Range High School in Westminster, Co and former Western State lacrosse player. On October 28th at FiveStar Stadium in Thornton, Colorado (20 min north of Denver). Mountian Range HS willbe hosting an 8 team round robin winner’s bracket, loser’s bracket style tournament with a 3 game guarantee. Seeding for this tournament is yet to be determined by either last year’s standings or by the out come of how all of you do at Western States Fall Classic. This tournament will cost $400. That money will be used to help fund our brand new lacrosse program to northern Denver, pay for refs, trainers and all of the amenities listed below.

• 7,000 CAPACITY STADIUM
• 1 SPORT TURF FIELD
• 1 NATURAL GRASS FIELD
• LOCKER ROOMS
• VENDOR TENTS (lax world, harrow, breakaway sports)
• FASTEST SHOT, TOP SHELF ACCURACY, FREE STYLE CONTESTS
• CONCESSIONS
• TOURNAMENT T-SHIRT SALES
• FUNDRASING OPPORTUNITY (bring your teams apparel to be sold)
• RERUTING OPPORTUNITY (talk to some of or seniors about lacrosse at your school)

As of right now Western State, Colorado Mines, Metro State and CSU-Pueblo have already confirmed for this event. We are talking to teams such as UNC, FORT LEWIS, REGIS, NEW MEXICO, UVSC, UTAH STATE, DU CLUB,WEBER STATE, DIXIE STATE and WYOMING.

Also we are hosting the first meeting between CU and CSU since they last met in the National Championship in Dallas on September 30th at 7:00 at Five Star Stadium. The Regis and CSU women will also be playing at 5:00pm. Admission will be $3.00. We are using this event as a fundraiser for MRHS lacrosse and to promote the game we all know and love to the metro north area.

I hope to hear from all of you very soon and if you have any questions please feel free to reach me at 303 217 0541 or throw me an email at dunkonu25@aol.com

Thanks Again,
Dan Doehler

Nobody has spoken to me that is sponsoring this event. Michael Mooney our team President mentioned it to me the other day but other then that I have not heard a word about this and you have New Mexico listed as a program contacted about this. We will look into attending this event if at all possible.

All the best,

John

Dan:

Yes, Michael has spoken to me about it and we will approach the team at Saturday's practice. We had planned to go to the Western State Tourney but it fell during homecoming weekend. I can't promise we will make this, but I am open to it. I see a very good chance of New Mexico making this event. I will PM you on the rest and the details.

All the best,

John

With Fort Lewis taking the last spot in the Trick or Treat Shoot Out in Thornton Colorado we now have the field set. Teams that will compete include Northern Colorado, Colorado Mines, CSU-P, Western State, New Mexico, Regis, Metro State and now Fort Lewis. This tournament should give us a good taste on what to expect this year in the RMLC Div B.

Due to some un foreseen budgeting issues CSU-P has to pull out of the Trick or Treat Tournament. This post is now an open invitation for Div B teams who would like to take part in the action please reply to the post if you are intersted in playing

New Mexico is also going to pull out due to several key injuries. With a small start up Team and just not feeling we can be competitive on the level we are capable of, I have made the decision to pull out since the field was now down to an odd number with CSU Pueblo pulling out. We are going to keep our commitment to go to FT. Lewis this Sunday with a 12 Man Team.

Hey Guys,

Sorry to say but UCCS won't be able to make it out to the tourney. I just could not round up enough guys to play.

We are back in business folks we now have Lodo's Lacrosse Club and Crybaby Sally as the two teams to replace CSU-P and New Mexico who dropped earlier this week. My question to you all out there how would you rank the following teams to make this thing competitive? Ultimately I know all of the college teams want to play each other so should we match the two club teams together first round??? Please help me rank with thoughts and opinions and to those playing who you would want to play?

1. NORTHERN COLORADO
2. FORT LEWIS
3. COLORADO MINES
4. WESTERN STATE
5. REGIS
6. METRO STATE
7. CRYBABY SALLY (DENVER BASED MENS CLUB PLAYERS)
8. LODO'S LACROSSE CLUB (DENVER BASED MENS CLUB)
