There has been a lot of talk about Ft. and Boise and Montana St. Has anyone heard about UVSC. How are they lookin? Are they worthy of the #3 ranking?

They have always been good, they will always be good.....its a mystry, they always have like 14 players, and they are scrappy, but they are good. So yes, they do deserve the Preseason ranking, but we will see what happens once the season starts

Actually, UVSC brought out 25-30 kids for their scrimmage last night in the Spence Eccles field house vs. UofU. They have a couple attackman that look sharp, particularly a kid named Tory from Alta High School and his pal Nick Jensen. Defense Trost and Tommy (don't know last name) are aggressive leaders. They should do really well this year. Definetely the most kids I've seen on a UVSC sideline in a long time. They had a couple midfielders with great shots.

Joe-
thanks again for playing us in your new indoor facility...way nice place to play. I don't remember a thing from the game, but sounds like you guys keep the ball on your side of the field most of the game. How is Parker doing? I feel bad that we both got taken out the first play of the game, but it would be nice to hear how he is doing. Thanks Joe-

Well considering I felt that first hit all the way up in the crow's nest, I would say Parker is okay, amazingly enough. He had a HUGE gash on his left cheek that was bleeding profusely. As far as I know (after serious stitches) he's okay and should be back playing again by the ASU opener.

Personally, I thought you guys looked really good, despite the fact that the Utes pretty much dominated the posession time. In the 4th quarter when the Utes settled into their zone D your attackmen seemed a little more at home, and you got some good chances. I think you guys will do really really well.

I hope your feeling better, that hit looked pretty heavy. Good luck this year pal. I'm sure I'll see you around. -joe

UVSC is always tough for us (Fort) but if this i hear about 20-30 kids scares the crap out of me they be us early in the season with like 11 people. But i hear they lost a couple of people. Do they still have that Big attackman #12 i think? I can't move that guy to save my life....(sigh)

UVSC did lose some big names from last years team, but the same can be said about almost every Division B team. This is the most guys we have ever had and it is so nice to look to your our and see some depth. at the same time, only 10 guys are on the field at one time so it all evens out in the end. We have a pre-season game against BYU this friday and it will be good to see where we stand as a team.

I don't recall you having any big names last year. I don't believe anyone from Mines made all conference in 2004. But, it is good to hear that you have some returning players.

Yea...thats actually not because we didnt deserve it...I know I did and so did 5 or 6 other players...but rather because our former president decided it didnt fit into his schedule to go to the league meetings, and thusly we were placed on probation for the year, including no one being able to get any awards. Scott Syzmanski, Danny Rabiolo (who would be an all american this year if he was not leaving the country), Cole Ones, and myself, Chris Mace, would have all been all conference, and possible Scott O'connor and Robert Applegate

That is quite a few "should have been" All-Conference players for a team with only a few wins. I know that the top two RMLC-B teams (Ft. Lewis, UVSC) only had 5-Ft., 4-UVSC, All-Conference Players. I trust you have some good players, but maybe not 5 or 6. Then again, who knows, we will have something to chat about when conference play begins.

Does UVSC really have what it takes to go the distance? I know the answer to this question, i just want your feedback.

Big T, I am pretty sure your playing time will be minimal at best on friday, am I right? And when I ask, I am really spitting truth. :D

Anyone think Boise State will finally beat UVSC? We have never beat them in the past. Regardless, it should be a great game.
