I'm looking forward to hearing about the Utah vs Chico and Chapman games. Utah will be taking on two tough WCLL opponents and it will be interesting to see how good they are.

Does anyone know if the games at UC Irvine are tournament games, or official full length games? Gonzaga is playing USC on Saturday, and then a double header vs Davis and UCLA on Sunday. Need depth to be competitive playing 3 official length games in 2 days...

my understanding is they are all full length games, some big division b matchups as well as chapman vs. utah, should be a good weekend of lax

They are all official length games and are set up that way to count for the OOC games that are required for the teams that want to be eligibile for the At-Large bids.

UCI Shootout
Gonzaga AND Pacific Lutheran are both playing three games in two days at the UCI event. Good luck to both the Zags and Lutes representing the PNCLL.
My own Huskies were scheduled to play in this event also, a trip we unfortunately had to cancel during our big team upheaval a few weeks back. My apologies again to the hosts from UC Irvine and to LMU and Chapman who we were slated to play for this cancellation. I sincerely hope we can make this trip up next year or in a future season.

Am I the only person who is absolutely fascinated by the Poly/UCSB matchup tomorrow? Maybe I'm so interested because BYU plays both next week...
I think this is a huge game in the WCLL. Anyone else have any thoughts?

poly v. sb
the poly ucsb game, then the scores form both of them playing byu will be a great gauge as to which teams are for real this year. Next couple weeks of games are going to be very interesting. I'm very excited to see the outcome as well

They are in different divisions, so this is not a huge WCLL game. They probably will both win their respective divisions and make it to the WCLL final 4.

Yeah but on a national level, helping for at-large bids, don't you think it is important. *Assuming Noma wins the WCLL, which isn't given. I just think it is really big for both of them, UCSB showing they can play even though they lost so much last year and for Poly to put themselves back in the hunt for nationals after a hiatus last year.

Clearly it's going to be an important game, but I also see bluevelvet's point that inside of the WCLL, it's not incredibly important. To pollsters, however, this is one of the top three or four games for determining standings for the next poll. You're both right, just in different ways.
Santa Barbara pretty much has their division, (unless they fall to UCLA, LMU, or USC) and Poly looks to have a good run at theirs. Almost beyond all doubt in the top two.
But then... if we're going to decide that now... why play the rest of the season?

Sonoma willl not have the services of their 2 best returning players. Benny Cannis (AA defense) is ineligible and Brian Johnson (AA middie) has a broken hand. Those players were both set to be captains. So Sonoma might not be a shoo-in in the WCLL.

The Texas State vs Chico State game on Sunday has been moved to 2pm and the Northern Colorado vs. UC-Irvine game has been moved to 11AM. Dick Flory has revised the MDIA schedule for those following that.
