The article doesn't state if it's next season or not though.

Good for Salem State and all. The guys over there are doing a great job. I just hope it isn't 2008. The league they play in I don't think is that good, but they would have missed out on this entire recruiting year. That would be bad news. Good luck to them either way.

Yes the rumors are true, as of June 11th, Salem State is now a varsity Division III team. We are looking to get into a league, but are prepared to play an inpendent schedule for this coming spring(2008).

I personally would like to thank Tim & Dan for helping me get Salem into the Pioneer League, which allowed us to show our potential. And I would like to thank all of the teams and coaches, for two great seasons, that helped us get to where we are now.

Congrats to SSU. Are they the first USLMDIA/MCLA team to go varsity?

Tre: has there been any discussion about Salem returning to the Little East Conference? Just curious.

independent

For this coming Spring 08 season, our team will be playing independent schedule. I know Coach Eaton had posted that earlier but I figured I would just make it definite. I am not sure what Coach will be looking to do about next year but I believe we were looking at the Little East as a top option. Again, thanks to all for the competition and great seasons over the past couple of years. Good luck to all in the upcoming spring.

If interested, our schedule can be found at salemstate.edu in the athletics section, under lacrosse.

Next year Salem State College will be a part of the Little East. This is confirmed.
