And now it's over and we're talking about polls.

Sorry...

Anyways... What thoughts do people have about Texas moving down to the south? How is that going to disrupt the balance for next years playoff?

I think this will leave the North wide open. The clear favorites in the South have to be UT, A&M with TX State pulling up the rear for the third playoff spot. Or will they be able to keep pace with their improving trend and knock off one of the other two teams.

Any thoughts on D2.

i think Texas moving to the south is the biggest news of the offseason.
the south now has 3 of the top 4 teams from last year. i always thought it was weird that a team 30 minutes north of us (closer than anyone) would be in the north and txSTATE in the south.
i'd also like to add that pre-season polls are worthless, in college football (this should be obvious), in college basketball (all that matters is the tourney) and the LSA (only one wins it all, everyone else has to think about next year)
that being said im very excited about the upcoming a&m tourney, looks like the best group of teams i've seen and texas state's young team gets to defend it's only title ever after winning last year with a goalie pass- to attackmen-goal with 2 seconds to go (take that UNT)
good luck to everyone this year, i expect an improved LSA and who knows maybe even some OOC wins.

I believe typically it is the player that is most valuable to his team.

Agreed. That's why Tim Tebow should win the heisman (although I do hate to see it go to a sophomore). Also, those guys, there are three total, are the Bouchard brothers. Sick canadians.

It only takes about 12 hours IF you have the information which I usually had to beg for 100 times to get late ballots. Tech turned in its ballots late and was fined.

Could I? If it's supposed to be private I respect that but I am curious.

**Sorry, I mean the all conference voting, not the mvp stuff; I wasn't really paying attention to the subject of the post

I don't think it will affect the league too much, at least in the immediate future. Since the playoff system allows teams from the same side of the conference to meet in the championship, I'd expect aTm and UTexas to be in the LSA chamionships together again because both are returning plenty of talent. Someone will have to play spoiler in the playoffs to keep either of these teams from meeting on Sunday because they definitely won't be held off in the regular season this year (not that anyone expected that).
