DENVER – University of Denver men's lacrosse coach Jamie Munro announced Wednesday that seniors Brett Koll (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Jon Paulson (Flemington, N.J.) along with junior Joey Murray (Denver, Colo.) and senior transfer Carlos Navarro (Dallas, Texas) will captain the 2008 Pioneers.

"We are pleased to announce these four student-athletes as captains," said Munro. "They will provide tremendous leadership as we move forward for the 2008 season."

Koll, a 2007 co-captain, returns for his final season at DU after having played in eight games last season, missing six games with an injury. The attackman totaled 13 points on five goals and eight assists and had a season-high five points against Duke on February 25.

Paulson was DU's leading goal-scorer from a season ago with 26. Paulson appeared in 15 games last season and was third on the team with 31 points. Paulson, who plays attack, had at least one goal in 15 of Denver's 16 games.

Murray was the Pioneer's assists and points leader last season with 21 assists and 43 points. The midfielder played in all 16 of Denver games, with 14 starts. Murray had DU's highest-point game last season with eight points, six goals and two assists, against Villanova on March 3. Murray recorded at least one point in 15 of DU's 16 games.

Navarro transfers to Denver from Butler to finish his collegiate career and will make an immediate impact on the Pioneers' defense. Navarro was named to the 2006 All-Great Western Lacrosse League second team and was an All-American defenseman at Episcopal School in Dallas.
