Actually, their lacrosse program is still in its infancy stage. The lacrosse program at Bellarmine has only been in place for about 4 or 5 years now. It is a pretty good sized private Catholic high school in the San Jose area with very nice athletic facilities.

He played at Nazareth. He was on the team that ended Hobart's Div. III streak in 1992.

SSU announces coaching changes
undefined/7/2007 -- Dear SSU Lacrosse family, By now most of you know that Coach Carl has stepped down from the position of Head Lacrosse Coach at SSU. He will still be living in the area, teaching in Petaluma and hoping to spend more time with TJ, his son who has become such an important part of his life. This was a difficult decision but one that he made after a difficult year trying to juggle teaching, coaching and spending time with his family. While at Sonoma State Coach Carl compiled a seven year record of 126-26 with three WCLL championships and one MCLA National Championship. At one point his teams won 33 straight games spread over the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Doug is a close personal friend of mine and I look forward to many years of our continued friendship. He is also very devoted to the program and will provide advice and direction whenever we ask. That said, I wanted to announce that Dominic Gomez has accepted the position of head coach for the 2007-08 season. Dominic was a dominant goalie who played for SSU from 2001-2004, he won several All WCLL honors as well as MCLA (USLIA back then) All American honors and anchored the team's 2002 national championship. After his playing days were over he coached the defense at Sonoma State in 2005 and 2006 before moving back to San Diego to pursue a business venture. While in San Diego he also worked as a substitute teacher and coached the defense at Cathedral High School. His experiences in San Diego gave him the opportunity to decide what he wanted to do for the future. He has decided to get his teaching credential and is returning to SSU to both coach and complete the credential program. I know all of you will wish him well for the future as he guides the SSU lacrosse team from this point forward. Joining Dominic as an assistant coach will be Benny Cannis who played for SSU from 2004-2006 and earned First team WCLL All Conference honors in 2004 and followed that with his selection as WCLL Defensive Player of the Year in 2005 and an All American selection for the MCLA.. Benny was known as a strong and aggressive close defenseman with great take-away checks and the ability to quickly push the ball to the offensive side of the field. We are still interviewing individuals to add to the coaching staff and we had hoped to announce the complete staff but it has taken so long that it seemed prudent to make an announcement now about Dominic and Benny. There will be more to come in the near future. We all look forward to seeing you next season as the 2008 version of the SSU lacrosse team hits the field. Best Regards, Mike Annala

It looks like they have Head Coach Peter Rovinelli listed on their website, maybe the position has been filled.
