Flow,
Thanks for your comments about the selection process in general. Feel free to pass on any suggestions you have to any team coach or player rep for discussion at the league meeting next fall.
As far as my comments regarding my team, I am not sure what frustrates you about that. I was responding to DTwizzle's personal attack against my team and players. His implication was that a 7-7 team could not have players worthy of All Conference selection. All I was trying to point out is that in fact we may have been better than our record indicates and in fact that we have a few good players on the team.
I have a question for Mr. Twizzle, how many other goalies in the league played behind three freshmen starting defensemen? Phil's save percentage and goal against average improved quite dramatically over the course of the season as his defensive corps gained some experience. Again, DTwizzle is using one factoid to base his comments that Phil's selection to the second team is without merit.
I have no problem with constructive criticism one bit but there has to be some basis for the negative comments.

DTrain, let me break it down for you.
It was really cool back in the day when Noma and SB would root for each other. But the past few years the classless attitude the gaucho players have shown toward Sonoma is what has lost the mutual respect. After SB beat noma for the Nat. Champ in 05 players from SB were talking trash to Mike Annala. I don't know if you know but Mike Annala did everything he could to keep SB in the playoffs when they were having eligibility issues.
Last year the sideline antics were a direct retaliation to classless remarks made at the end of the NOMA/SB (in dallas) by Luke Shaw.
Every year when Sonoma and CSU strap up against each other it is a grudge match to the end and after the game there is respect for each other.
So until SB shows respect for their fellow league-mates up north don't expect any in return.

I hope that this year or next, that the two schools can put things behind them, root and cheer on the other team when that team can use the support of their same conference rivals.

Gary, I must have seen it another way. You should defend your players, in that it cannot be assumed that only the top teams have players worthy of being recognized. We all know that is not the case...

Pringle and Riddle are repeats from the year before, and i think Keebler was either 2nd or 3rd team. If a player improves, why can't he climb the selection ladder as well?
Neither Riddle or Keebler made even Honorable Mention last year.

Let's not get out of hand here. Players from both squads have said negative things to each other over the years. Lest we forget Sonoma fans throwing tortillas in Santa Barbara when UCSB was out of the WCLL playoffs last year during the WCLL finals? Perhaps that was the reason why "classless remarks" were made in Dallas. Just because there was one or two bad incidents in the history of this rivalry does not justify all this negativity. I am a strong supporter of both teams, but to say that one deserves more blame than the other in terms of "showing respect" is ridiculous. That being said, this issue is about who is worthy of being All-League, and once again, some of the decisions disappoint me.

sohotrightnow, your investigative skills once again prove helpful. I love it when people just make things up for their arguments, like all-star selections in years past. NomaBlueCollar that's outstanding. I need to remember this technique and use it in the future, what is called...oh yeah LYING, that always validates someone's knowledge and expertise in certain topics. Ya done here son.
jmaxwell, I hope so too my friend. As sohotrightnow points out, at this point it is ridiculous and both sides are at fault.
Competion and rivalry is one of the best things about sports, but we're all still representing and caring the flag for the west coast together. As I said, no one or no program should be bigger than the game.
Hope to see you all in Dallas
