Coach added to FSU staff

Postby Kevin OBrien on Tue Apr 03, 2007 5:36 pm

There's a difference between having a coach who's pretty well off and donated money to build a field (which has first priorty going to marching band, second going to football team, and third going to men's lacrosse as i understand it) and having a coach bankroll the team. From my conversations with Coach Harkins, their budget is based off of what other top clubs budgets are: fundraising and player dues. FWIW, I don't think (and more importantly, there is no evidence to support that) that their budget is any more than other top teams. Their individual dues are in line with other programs as well, from what I hear.

I just feel making false comments on public message boards for everyone to read is wrong and has the intent to damage the group who it targets. We can all get on here and make stuff up, but then what's the point in being on here. As for every thing else Kevin Obrien is completly correct and there is really nothing else for me to add.

I sure wish I had the $$$ to buy my team a field in the middle of campus...then we wouldn't have to drive 30 minutes (through awful traffic) to ours.

Hey...If you can't bandy about conspiracy theories regarding ringers in an alumni tournament, then the terrorists have won.
