Houston Invitational

They had 2 fields laid out on Thursday night. One of the two fields had essentially dirt placed on top of existing dirt. It was determined that the lighting on this field was insufficient and the field condition unplayable. That is why they scrambled and developed the third field that was dramatically short. FYI, both original fields were dramatically short to begin with. I was asked about the fields in Clear Lake from the get go and I STRONGLY advised not to hold the competition in Clear Lake. The fields there are used by Youth Club Soccer and the Clear Lake H.S. Girls Lacrosse teams. They are used 6 out of 7 nights per week and there is little or no maintenance done on the fields. Oyher venues in Houston were discussed including Bear Creek Park in west Houston, which is essentially a soccer venue, but with good fields, in addition to the University of Houston. I was not involved in the decision making, but I did voice my opionion when asked.

unfortunately I think that this year's tourney may have soured people a bit. What I am about to say is not meant to be absurb. Is there any chance that HSA could make it up to the lax community and put next year's tourney in Feb. or April and put it in the dome. I know it costs $, but after this fiasco, to have the dome in writing would be a great incentive for out of conference teams to come. I mean other than TSU, and local H.S. FB, and the rodeo (and the occasional Tx size rat-I saw one the size of Beagle in the Bowels of the Dome once, no joke), who else uses it? I think it would be great for lax (the rat thing was like ten years ago).

I don't know if the dome would happen but that would be cool. The only problem with it is the rodeo situation around this time of year and who would pay for the electricity? Anybody no a big whig at Reliant? haha.
