Lacrosse group aims for regular status at Watertown High

WATERTOWN -- They don't have a home field in town to play on, but that's not preventing lacrosse enthusiasts from wanting to take the sport to the next level.
Representatives of the Lacrosse Association of Watertown Inc. met with the Board of Education's facilities and athletics subcommittees in June to discuss the ramifications of elevating the sport to junior varsity and varsity status at Watertown High School. The association is facing looming deadlines for compiling a competitive interscholastic schedule.
"If we put out the word in August that we have a program, we can start making up a schedule," said Peter Tomsheck, a lacrosse coach and former member of the Parks and Recreation Commission.
