Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport at all levels, according to Sports Illustrated. The state of Michigan is no exception, with 65 schools fielding teams eligible for the state tournament.
Lacrosse in the Ypsilanti community is still in its infancy, but with programs at both Lincoln and Ypsilanti high schools, the sport is bound to grow in the area. At the same time, Eastern Washtenaw County's teams should only get better with time.
The Ypsilanti program is in just it's second year, but doesn't have to look far to see how quickly success can come to a young program.
