Okay, so it's maybe not in the sports section, where we'd ultimately like to get some respect, but in the 6/20/05 there's a teaser on the front page (below the fold) for a full-page article on lacrosse on page B3 (Metro section).
It's a pretty good article and should generate some interest. I wish they would have downplayed equipment costs--maybe noting that used equipment can be purchased--and downplayed the contact in men's lacrosse (especially since that might concern some parents of younger kids, where there's no contact anyway). There was also a quote from a kid that I could have done without: "I like that you get to whack people with sticks."
Oh, and they show a kid in a hockey helmet; I don't know what league the kid is in, but that does NOT mean you can wear one in a HS or college game!
