The UW-Eau Claire men's club lacrosse team salvaged a split over the weekend, losing 16-0 against St. John's University (Minn.) but knocking off Carlton College (Minn.) 7-6 in overtime.
Against Carlton Sunday, a late goal in the fourth quarter by senior Ben Peterson forced the game into overtime. Then, senior Chris Bender scored in the early minutes of the extra session to give Eau Claire the victory. Freshman Jerad Hill scored twice for Eau Claire, and junior Matt Caruso along with freshman Tom McCabe added goals as well.
