See even Karl couldn't even come up with a defensmen as a MVP....

In no way should we count a defenseman out of the running for player of the year. I can think of several defenseman that could easily qualify for this honor. It doesn't matter how many goals your team can score if you don't have a beast at the other end shutting down the other team who can bring both physical and mental dominance into the game.

From personal experience, I can think of several occasions where defenseman on teams I've played on and on teams I've played against have all but completely taken control over a game. A good defenseman can be as effective as he can be intimidating, and we should certainly not count out this position for Player of the Year.

Having played against most of the poles in the LSA this season(exception being SMU), I would be hard pressed to pick a pole as the MVP this season. Not to say there aren't good poles in the league, but none deserving of the MVP in my eyes.

Mental dominance? Whats that? I dont understand what that is? Do I have that?

But I'm gonna have to go with uzisuicide: More possessions equals more goals and keeps the D fresh. And we at the defensive end love being fresh! So I guess I'm only disagreeing with you because I hate to run...

Mental dominance is mind control. Haven't you ever heard of the Jedi-Mind Check? Sheesh.

While Chris Files is a good player, and 62 goals is hard to get no matter who you play against, I don't think he is the MVP of this league. Not because of what he doesn't do, but because of what another player did do. Texas Tech had a very strong season this year, and knocked off A&M early this season. While they had a setback, against a good texas team, I think that the best player in the league and the one most valuable to his team is their standout goalie. Every time i see him play he is standing on his head. I won't say that he is the reason that tech is where they are. But in Lacrosse you are only as good as your goalie. Look at Nichols State of Last year, they had a good team, but their goalie could not make a save (allowed 21 goals against UTA in the finals), and they lost. I think that because Kurzweil is so good, it elevates Tech to such a level that if you had a mediocre goalie in the pipes, you would notice.
