Can the PNCLL Finals MVP Award be given to a player on the loosing team?

I know it hasn’t since I’ve been around. 2002 saw UW’s goalie almost shut out, I think, Whitman’s offence in the semis, and Oregon’s offence in the finals, allocating him with a well-deserved finals MVP award. 2003 gave the award to Mark Thompson for his outstanding performance to quell Oregon’s 4th quarter comeback. And the 2004 finals MVP went to Oregon goalie Nate Cordova for his shutdown of the SFU’s squad, aside from Kojima’s run for the title during the second half. Those late 5 goals were pretty impressive considering he was playing long pole defense the entire first half.

So I guess my point is, in 2003 Oregon had some guys who could have received the finals MVP award for their run for the title, and in 2004 Kojima could have received the award for his outside shot, but neither did. Is it possible for this award to be given to the loosing team? I like what has been said in the other thread about the team game and how the award is shared by the team, etc. And more should be said about that in response to this question.

why not? though i think it should definitely go to a player on the winning team -- ernst could've won it in 03. not cause of his class/ conduct, but cause he made some huge plays. still, i think someone has to stand on their head in order to get it in a losing effort

If a game was incredibly close, and there was a player on the losing team that was outright dominant. . .I could see a player from the losing team winning the award. . .but aside from some ridiculous performance, 99% of the time the finals MVP should come from the winning team.
