FSU Lacrosse is proud to announce Matthew Doyle will lead the Seminoles to success as Head Coach going into the 2014 season.
With an outstanding background, Doyle has been invested in the sport for 26 years. Most notably, he was an All-American attackman and a part of two national championship teams during his tenure at Syracuse. “We know he will run our team at that highly competitive level and coach the players to have a winning mentality,” said Senior Team Captain, Tyler Selman.
During the last three weeks of Fall Ball, Doyle was invited down to meet the team and ensure a smooth transition going into the Spring season. Quickly stepping into a coaching role, he helped lead the team to a 19-15 victory over rival UF. With the past 6 months of the team’s future being uncertain, Doyle’s presence has given players confidence going into the upcoming season. Senior Andrew Kiggen states, “I don’t think we could have found a better candidate for this program. I know he has what it takes to make this team a championship caliber team again.” Being a former player himself, Coach Doyle established a quick connection with the players, “We will play hard and also play a fun brand of lacrosse.”
