Authorities and family members say he was negotiating a switchback turn outside Bozeman when he tumbled from his bike, striking his head. Family members say he was wearing a helmet.

He was carried out by rescuers within an hour of when 911 was called, after friends performed mouth-to-mouth while others sought help. He was taken to a Bozeman hospital by ambulance and later flown to Billings, where he died.

Nemcek's father, Gary, spoke with pride of his son, who lived and breathed sports before and after his illness and also endured three knee surgeries while playing lacrosse for St. Olaf. He graduated among the high scorers in his league....

Sounds like a very sad situation. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone.
