I think this is a pretty accurate list, but does anyone out there think there were any snubs?
Personally I think BU goalie Russel Porter should have at least gotten an Honorable Mention, as he was responsible for several of their big wins toward the end of the season. Also, UNH LSM Ian Osgood (# 12) has been outstanding in each game I've seen them play, and easily should have been at least an honorable mention. Was giving UNH 2 LSMs out of the question? I also would have liked to have seen a few d-middies get some love. Maybe next year

I agree both are very worthy players, but neither was nominated by their respective coaches.

My only snubs were:
Jason Knerr could have been named offensive player of the year, really the strongest offensive player i saw all year.
Also that Patrick O'Brien from BC didn't get any love. He helped anchor a strong BC defense along side DPOY Chris Ward. But the BC defense had its share of representation.

I could be biased, but I would have to say that the quality of attackmen in the PCLL this year was not what it has been in the past. Sure alot of them put up good goal stats but I think that midfielders really are the key to winning in the PCLL. Not trying to take anything away from Lancey or any other attackmen. I would not have been surprised to see Rich or one of NUs top 2 get the award, i think that having 2 standouts probably hurt the chances for Schatz and Meunier.
On the Defensive side I completely agree with the selection of Ward as DPOY. Absolute class act, and does everything right on and off ball. Was definitely the best player I watched from the other end of the field.
I'm curious as to what the exact selection process was... do all the coaches just get together and vote for whomever they feel is deserving? or does a player have to be nominated by his coaches before he can get votes?

The process for All Conference and Yearly awards is that each coach gets to nominate a certain number of players (and rank the nominations) based on the standings a week before the season ends (4/20 I think this year). They can also nominate candidates for the yearly awards (either from their team or from another team). Those nominations are emailed out to the selection committee (5 D1 coaches, 4 D2 coaches), who then have a conference call and select the team. It a system we've had for two years now, and seems ot be working fairly well. Maybe still a few kinks to iron out, but overall a lot smoother than the old way of all the coaches in the league in a room arguing over who was better (that was always a long process).

obviously BC is loaded with talent, so it would be difficult for the coach to narrow down his list of nominations, but i thought it was strange that the championship mvp tom luckey was not nominated for all conference. watching him at the game yesterday he certainly seemed deserving. he had at least 4 goals and i don't think any of them were dunks. he's a good dodger and a great shooter on the run. also he was dominant when they brought him in to take face offs.
