SELC-2 Lack of OOC Games/National Championship

SELC-2 Lack of OOC Games/National Championship

Postby gibertjs on Mon Mar 24, 2008 12:07 pm

Will the lack of OOC games in the SELC-2 prevent up to three of the top 10 teams in the country from going to the National Tournament? Should the SELC start requiring OOC games like some other conferances do?

The UMLL requires it's D2 teams to play 2 out of conference games to be eligible for our Championship Tournament.

We do this to protect teams that might be prohibitive favorites and highly ranked from losing a trip to nationals if they are upset in the Championship Tournament and do not earn the AQ.

The teams have embraced this and have often commented how much they gain on their trips or by hosting different teams.
