Umass thing is especially stupid. It would be almost understandable if it occurred at their residence and a lacrosse stick was the nearest weapon, but to consciously go and return with sticks without the "this might not be a good idea" lightbulb going off in the time it took to go there and back is mind-numbing.

I hope they throw the book at these UMass players and arrest them all for slashing!

Yeatman is a huge loss for ND. He opened everything up for Hoff on attack. Defenses across the nation just sighed a big relief.
U-Mass guys.....yea, let's go grab our lacrosse sticks. "they'll have no idea who we are". Real smart if that is what really happened.

I'm kind of surprised that Yeatman was suspended indefinitely... i'd figure a few game suspension would be enough
for umass:
1. if you're bringing your lacrosse stick to a party... you're a tool
2. if you get kicked out of a party and then decide to go get your lacrosse sticks and then come back with them and fight... you're a tool

I just read Chris Boland has been dismissed from the Hopkins team for the spring semester for academic issues....
That's a lot of talent that won't be on the field this spring.

I am not pulling a Nancy Grace and jumping to conclusions and convicting them already but it doesn't look good.
Here's what gets me though-Yeatman more valuable to the lax team and gets suspended. But is one of many blocking tight ends for FB and not suspended? Sorry Charlie...Take a hint from Kevin and as Spike used to say
"Do the Right Thing"

I know Charlie wasn't running the show, but there doesn't seem to be any preferential treatment for football players here. From the South Bend Tribune"During the 2005 football season, starting fullback Rashon Powers-Neal was arrested for a similar offense while home in Minnesota and was suspended for the rest of the semester, which encompassed all the remaining games during his fifth and final year at Notre Dame." Unfortunate as it may be, looks like just another case of a kid using bad judgement. He will be sorely missed if he has to miss the season.
As for the UMass situation, that is just plain ignorant, enough said!!

the bigger question here is what will this latest set back do to the sport that is rapidly growing? last year was the duke fiasco and now we have to smaller incidences getting national attention. i sure people outside of the lax community don't look at all of us think that all lacrosse players are crazy!!!
