Strength of Schedule

I am a little disappointed to see a lack of excitement for this next season. Any thoughts on who has the best/hardest schedule for 2008?

Maybe it's not lack of excitement, just no one wants to provide any information about their team cause it is seen as a scouting report.

That's at least the favorite argument given to me why no one ever discuss lacrosse on this site

I see BYU is scheduled for 13 out of 14 games against the current Top 25. Sounds like Coach Lamb's team should be well prepared to defend their crown come tourney time! 8)

RMLC teams will always have a stronger strength of schedule with so few conference games (lots of open weekends)... plus all the conference games are against Top 25.

Sure, but it's a conference with only FOUR D1 teams total now. Yes, BYU plays conference games against CSU, CU and Utah, which are all Top 25. But my point is that the Cougars have scheduled 10 OOC games against teams ranked in the Top 25 outside their own conference. BYU also plays Colorado College and Whittier, both legit NCAA DIII teams. The Cougars only non-Top 25 opponent in '08 is Oregon State, which is a good team and hardly a "cupcake" either.

Maybe the toughest schedule I have ever seen in the MCLA, going back to the previous century.

Just for fun. Maybe not as fun but time consuming. I just thought it'd be interesting.

*2. Colorado State - 14, 11, 8, 3 (CC also)

7. Boston College - 15, 5
*8. Michigan -14, 9, 7, 4
*9. Arizona - 14, 9, 7, 5
10. Northeastern - 14, 5
11. Lindenwood - 18, 8,
*12. Colorado - 9, 9, (couldn't find) csu, byu, uofa, mich,
13. Georgia - 13, 6

I get your point Dan, and I'd love to be able to put together a schedule like BYU or CSU, but my point was simply that they have a lot of open weekends to schedule games... I know going into my season that I've got at least 4 (more likely 5 or 6) weekends that are tied up for conference games. A team like CSU could play all their conference games in one weekend if they wanted to.
I'm glad that the RMLC teams do schedule so many tough out of conference games... it helps makes everybody else stronger too.

not that it matters much but GVSU picked up another ranked opponent with a total of 18 games (15 MCLA teams) in the regular season.

I'll have to see what is going on with our schedule listings. We have 3 preseason top 25 teams. To add to where the conversation seems to be going, we have one DIII team as well.

A team like CSU could play all their conference games in one weekend if they wanted to.

Really? That would be one crazy weekend. BYU, CSU, CU and UU. I would love to see some video of those guys trying to walk to class on Monday. After 8 years being involved with our league it still gets my gord that we have to schedule games on consecutive days. This game is just not meant to be played in that manner.......in my opinion.

With growing conferences available scheduling is shrinking for most of us. Especially on the DII side. Northern teams have the weather factor to help squeeze our schedules as well.
