The East Torrens Payneham Lacrosse Club (Redwings) from South Australia is seeking the services of Mens Field Lacrosse Players to join our team for the upcoming winter season in South Australia.( Approx April - Sept )

East Torrens is currently coached by Tony Hill ( Hagar) former Senior Australian Asst Coach at the 1994 World Championships in Manchester where Australia achieved a Silver Medal

We are looking for an attackman (either a left hander or competent two handed player) and a long pole defense player either Middie or straight D

I can not stress enough how great this experience would be for anyone who wants to go to overseas and play. I went to OZ after my senior year at MSU in the summer of 2001. By strange coincidence I played and coached with Coach Hill. I am proud to count myself as a Redwing Alumni, and I barrack for them every summer.

Playing in South Australia allowed me the opportunity to play against All-World players like Peter Inge, and with Wilbur Costa a 2003 ILF Indoor World Games goalie.

ETP is a wonderful club and I will be happy to recommend it, and talk about it at length with absolutely anyone considering playing overseas.

What exactly is a "competent two-handed player"? Sorry, I watch too much Canadian lacrosse so this concept has me confused!

In response to the topic at hand...

I would also encourage those interested to purpue the option of playing in Australia. I've had the pleasure of playing with the Bayswater Rocks (Perth) while at the World Games in London, ON. A truly fantastic group of guys that love the game.

I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about lacrosse in other parts of Australia. I am moving to Brisbane in a month and would love to be able to continue to play regardless of the level. If anyone has any info or contacts it would be awesome. Thanks.

There is not a lot of lacrosse in Queensland. Most of the teams are in SA, WA, or Victoria. Surfer's Paradise does have an amazing tournament in their Spring, our Fall. Check out the state lax site. They should have some information for you.

Troy, SA lax is so much better then any of those Perth boys. SA is better at Lax, and much better at Footy!
