I wanted to throw this out being that I was originally born in Belarus (former Soviet Union), but are there a lot of foreign players playing lacrosse or current alumni? I am curious to see because my guess is that there have been a few players in the past and possibly a few who currently play.

We had two players on UCSB who weren't US citizens and two who had dual citizenship. We also had a German exchange student who played during the fall, but had to go back to Germany.

I believe there was a profile of a Japanese student athlete on the Oregon squad this past season.

If you are counting Canadians, you'll find seven on LU's roster this season. Plus, Brad Hobson graduated last spring.

Breck (MN high school) had an exchange student from Sweden play on their team. He eventually played on the Varsity squad. I think St. Olaf has had 2 Norwegians play. I might be wrong on that one.

Before my time at SU there was a kid from Ireland known simplay as "Irish". (We have a kid named "Irish" again now but that is because his last name is actually "Irish")

We had a Swedish exchange student, Florian Geissler, who played for the Huskies in 2005. Florian had a couple years of lax experience playing for a Men's Club team in Stockholm before he arrived at U-Dub.

Just stopped by UCSB practice yesterday. They had two players from Amsterdam. They admitted to me that the game was going a little faster than they were used to at home. Might have been the Amsterdam lifestyle.
