CollegeLAX is seeking to hire free-lance sports writers to help us cover the 2007 MCLA season in the following geographic areas:
Southern California
Northern California
Washington/Oregon
Arizona/Nevada
Utah
Colorado
Texas/Louisiana
Missouri/Kansas
Florida
Georgia
North Carolina/Virginia
Michigan
Illinois/Indiana
Pennsylvania/West Virginia/Western New York

Articles would range from pre-game previews, post game recap articles, player profiles, and other lacrosse-related human interest stories. Player/Coach interviews would be conducted by you over phone, email, or Instant Messaging to gather background information & quotes for articles.

Compensation could structure one of two ways: Paid per free lance article or an unpaid internship for college credit. Interns would create original content on current MCLA teams and conferences and would typically write 1 or 2 articles per week (February thru April).

There might also be an opportunity for you to travel (and cover) either one of the regional conference tournaments (end of April) AND/OR the national championship tournament (May 8 - 12, 2007 in Dallas, TX).

If you are interested in applying for this job, please email CollegeLAX Webmaster Sonny Pieper ASAP with a cover letter/resume and a some of your sports writing samples.
