Halifax, Nova Scotia - Excitement continues to build as the city of Halifax prepares to host the Warrior 2007 ILF World Indoor Lacrosse Championship. Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Ireland, Iroquois Nationals, Scotland and the United States have officially registered for the World Championship, to be held at the Halifax Metro Centre May 14-20, 2007.

England and Ireland, new to the Championship, bring a total of eight teams, two more than the last World Championship four years ago. "The Irish Lacrosse Foundation is proud to announce the participation of the Irish national team in its first ever World Indoor Lacrosse Championship in Halifax, Canada in 2007," said Michael Kennedy, Irish team captain. "The World Indoor Championship provides a fantastic opportunity for players and our programs in Ireland to step up to the next level," Kennedy added.

"On behalf of Team England, I am pleased to announce our participation in the Warrior 2007 ILF World Indoor Lacrosse Championship," said Jamie Tasko, Team Manager for England. "Over the next several months we will be building our team and making preparations for this event. We recognize the challenges to be encountered in its adoption, and look forward to competing in an event that will showcase some (of) the best lacrosse players from around the world," Tasko said.

Lacrosse is North America's oldest sport and is played by 750,000 in 36 countries. It's a game of speed, courage, precision and endurance. Players from these national teams are the very best in the world and many are regularly seen playing for their professional teams in the National Lacrosse League, Major Lacrosse League and elsewhere.

Canada is a favourite to defend their 2003 WILC title, having just taken the coveted 2006 World Field Championship title away from the United States for the first time in 28 years.
