Wheeling Jesuit fall ball tourney

Michigan State lost a closely fought final game at the Wheeling Jesuit fall tournament. Teams Involved: D2 Wheeling Jesuit and Seton Hill, MCLA teams: Michigan State, Michigan, and Lindenwood.

MSU played Wheeling in the finals and played them to a 3-2 halftime score on a rain soaked field. Wheeling Jesuit pulled it out in the end 6-4.

Wheeling Jesuit wins Fall Tournament

October 02, 2006 - Wheeling Jesuit University hosted a five-team tournament this past Saturday, 9/30, and walked away with the 1st place trophy. The Cardinals played a very physical Michigan State team in the final game, where the final score was 6 – 4.

Wheeling Jesuit University was led by senior co-captain Mark Greaney (U-Detroit Jesuit H.S., MI), who scored 12 goals in 4 games, leading WJU to a 3 – 0 – 1 record for the day. Wheeling Jesuit was led on defense by sophomore goalie Brian Jack (Pickerington H.S., OH), who was outstanding in goal throughout the day, including making 12 saves in the championship game.

Michigan State University ended the day with a 3 – 1 record, beating Seton Hill University (PA) and Lindenwood University (MO) earlier in the day.
