Lacrosse Sticks it to the Canadian Troops in Afghanistan
TORONTO, Aug. 4 /CNW/ - The Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum will be sending upwards of a hundred Lacrosse Sticks, Balls and T-shirts to the Canadian troops in Afghanistan. General Rick Hillier, Chief of Defence supports this goodwill gesture by the Lacrosse Community and will make arrangements for the troops to receive the all around Canadian gifts with the Patriotic flare from Home.
"Much in the same vain that US troops toss a baseball around, with Lacrosse being Canada's National Summer Sport, I thought it might be a welcome release at times of leisure (if there are any) for the troops to use the sticks to throw a lacrosse ball around" Tom Succamore, President Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum
Don Cherry, the Ultimate Canadian told the OLHFM it was a great idea and to go for it!
As Prime Minister Stephen Harper says, "Lacrosse is Canada's national summer sport and a vital element of our nation's sports heritage."
