Culver has gauranteed a Machine Victory.
Chicago, IL - This evening on WGN Sports Radio with Dave Kaplan, Chicago Machine defenseman Michael Culver guaranteed a victory for the Chicago Machine (0-9) game this Saturday against the Los Angeles Riptide. If his team loses, Culver will donate half of his season's salary to the Children's Heart Foundation, a charity founded in Chicago and committed to the funding of research "to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects."
Culver, a captain of the 2006 NCAA National Champion Virginia Cavaliers (17-0), hopes his proposition will help carry the team to victory in addition to shedding light on an important charity. Win or lose, Culver will donate his game salary for this Saturday to the Children's Heart Foundation. Culver has also challenged local Chicago residents to match his donation and help in the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation.
The Chicago Machine will play this Saturday's game at their home field at Benedictine University. Face-off is set for 2:00 PM (CST) against the Los Angeles Riptide and the game will be broadcasted on ESPN2 on Tuesday, August 1st at 2:30 PM (CST).
