The page shows the game scores from the last 100 games reported in the new USLIA.com database. This should be useful for poll voters working on their ballots for this week's Div. A and Div. B Top 25 polls. The new SCORES page is also linked on the main blue bar menu.

Nice work. This is a good point of reference.

One thing on the listing, the name of the UC schools are listed kind of funny, i.e. Cal (California State), UCLA (California Los Angeles), etc. Nobody refers to these schools that way. The reference is usually used with the UC and then school location, such as UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, etc.

I think Cal is California. Chico is California State..... The computer didn't have room for Chico.

There are an awlful lot of games and scores missing. I assume it is because the teams involved are not updating the data base. So come on guys and do a little data entry.

That's great , definately a great add on for the new board.

would it be possible to put a teams ranking next to the score?
Obviously just the top 25 but I think it would be good instead of trying to remember where everyone is ranked.

For Example:

#7 Florida State 9: #17 Georgia Tech 7

That is a correct assumption. I would estimate that only about 40 - 45% of the 190+ teams nationwide are using the new system at the moment.

If the home team does not add a game to the schedule database, the visitor can not post the score or their individual stats, as I discovered today. This has to include neutral sites where one team is designated the home team for the game.

Also, there seems to be no goalie saves/goals allowed stat function -- only goals scored and assisted.

Yep, you got it right Wish. The only way to avoid duplicate games entered into the schedule is to only allow the home team to enter the game into the master composite schedule. This includes neutral sites games. Maybe you guys can help me out here and gently prompt the teams you have played to enter their info into the site?

We made a decision to only track goals, assists, and points this year in the stats database. The integrity of MDIA goalie stats is suspect nationally at best. We probably will revisit this issue later (i.e. future seasons).

This is something that I've wondered about in the past. You see some teams that have posted stats for their goalie that includes some incredible amount of saves and some teams that hardly post anything at all. It seems that some teams will credit the goalie with a save if he gets his stick on the ball, whether or not the shot has a chance to go in or not. What is the official definition of a save? I thought a save should only be credited if the shot is on goal and would've gone in if the goalie didn't stop it, correct?

I agree, and the idea is great in principle, however actually determining weather or not the ball "would've gone in if the goalie didn't stop it" is often difficult at best. Think about those low angle shots across the front of the goal, or bounce shots that the goalie jumps on. Who really knows if those shots would have gone past the far pipe or over the cross bar if the goalie did not stop them. Even high speed shots from the point can be tough to read from the sideline. In hockey a save is a save if the goalie touches the shot. (Heck they even get credit if the other team tries to ice the puck and it comes close to the goal causing the goalie to stop it.) It seems to me the goalie touching/saving the ball on any shot is the only practical and fair way to measure a save.

Yep, what constitues a "save" is always up for debate. But goals against average is a stat that is pretty hard to fudge. Either they scored while the goalie was in goal or they didn't. Case closed. A goals against average (GAA) could probably be utilized and without too much subjective stat keeping like number of saves.

What about teams that split time with multiple goalies? How do you track a game were Goalie A played 49 minutes and Goalie B played 11 minutes? Bottom-line, goalie stats are tough to track. GAA only works if one goalie plays 60 minutes each time out.

Can I add to the wish list that a "B - " get added to before the teams' names for Division B teams. I suggest the letter before, rather than a two new columns, in order to keep it all together, yet easy to differentiate.

The other option, which some might prefer, would be to just seperate the two divisions.
