16,000 Tickets Sold for Men's Championships Thus Far

Club level seats are gone for Memorial Day event at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania has announced that another section of Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field has sold out for the 2006 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships, which will take place at the venue Memorial Day weekend (May 27-29).

The all-session $60 club-level tickets are the second group to sell out, despite the fact that the event is still almost five months away (the all-session, $50 lower-level seats sold out a few months ago).

The only all-session tickets that remain are in the lower-level end zones and the mid-level end zones. Those seats are selling for $35, but for groups of 20 or more those seats can be bought at a group rate of $25 per ticket. Nearly 14,000 tickets remain for those sections.

As of Jan. 27, nearly 16,000 tickets have been sold for the Championships, far surpassing last year's pace. And if last year's affair is any indication, the weekend should prove to be a smashing success the 2005 championship weekend set a three-day attendance record at "The Linc." That included a Division I championship game-record 44,920 for the Monday showdown between Johns Hopkins and Duke, and a Sunday-record 21,052 for the Division II and III championship games.

Wondering if any of the USLMDIAers have already purchased their tickets to the NCAA lacrosse championships.

I would love to go, though I'm not sure I'll be able to. Some others I've spoke to are trying to decide between the World Championships and the NCAA's.

Wow - sold out early!

I had obtained great seats much closer to the game last year.
